The smallest and newest installed thermal camera from Optris GmbH of Germany is the Optris Xi 80 installed thermal camera, which enables real-time thermal imaging. Due to its small size and industrial design (IP67), as well as its software-controlled motorized focus (autofocus), the Xi 80 not only belongs to the most rugged (and smallest) thermal cameras, but it is also very easy to install. Moreover, it is capable of standalone operation (including thermal image evaluation) even without a connected PC.

Rugged and Compact Design

The small-sized (only Ø 36 mm x 100 mm) Xi 80 thermal camera is primarily designed for industrial applications (as an installed thermal camera): it has a compact construction, a metal housing with IP67 protection, making it resistant to even the harshest conditions.

Operation, Remote Control

Remote control of the Xi 80 thermal camera from a PC is easily achievable. It features a USB 2.0 standard interface through which, with the PIX connect software, remote control of the camera, up to 50Hz thermal image data transfer, and camera power supply can be managed. Power supply and data readout are also possible via GigE (PoE) (FastEthernet) interface.

PC Software

The versatile PIX connect thermography software developed by Optris is specifically designed for industrial applications and is compatible with 32-/64-bit Windows XP/Vista/Win7/Win10. The basic package of the software (included with the thermal cameras) is suitable for evaluating stored thermal images, image documentation, and providing live remote control of the thermal camera.
