InfraTec ImageIR 8820 installed thermal camera - Special photon detector thermal cameras for research and development purposes

InfraTec ImageIR 8820 installed thermal camera - The ImageIR 8820 thermal cameras have been developed for thermographic measurement/analysis of special long-wave measurement ranges and fast temperature processes. With a frame rate of up to 100 Hz, the ImageIR 8820 is capable of recording high-resolution thermal images. The latest thermal cameras from the German company InfraTec GmbH represent the most advanced devices on the international market with Focal-Plane-Array (FPA) photon detector technology. The ImageIR 8820 thermal cameras are available with two different - narrowed - long-wave measurement ranges and various application-specific options.

  • Photon detector with 640 x 512 pixel resolution
  • Long-wave measurement range: 8.0…9.4 µm (option: 8.4…10.2 µm)
  • Frame rate: 100 Hz
  • Measurement ranges 0°C ... 120°C (option: up to 300°C)
  • Very high thermal resolution: 35 mK (at 30°C)
  • High geometric resolution
  • Thermal image digitization: 14-bit
  • Ultra-short integration times
  • Cooling: long-life Stirling cooler
  • Real-time thermal image data collection on PC
  • Professional thermal image processing PC software

InfraTec ImageIR 8820 installed thermal camera - Versatile applicability

The ImageIR thermal cameras with their special capabilities are suitable for research and development tasks, high-speed manufacturing processes such as laser welding and soldering inspection, development, and diagnostics. The thermal cameras belonging to the ImageIR family have been developed primarily for industrial and laboratory thermographic analysis of short- and mid-wave measurement ranges and very fast temperature processes. Depending on the model, they offer frame rates of 850 Hz or even 4.5 kHz, and they connect to the delivered high-performance PC via a fast real-time interface.

The thermal cameras can be fully remote-controlled, aided by the control and evaluation program included in the delivered IRBIS® software suite. Customer-specific thermal image analysis and process control software for industrial thermal processes can be ordered.

The thermal cameras can be equipped with various optics according to the measurement task, making them incredibly versatile. Moreover, thanks to their completely sealed housing, they can withstand industrial conditions.

State-of-the-art detector technologies

Thanks to the latest Focal-Plane-Array (FPA) detector technologies (based on InSb, MCT, or QWIP detector matrices depending on the wavelength range) used in the ImageIR thermal camera family, excellent image quality and extremely high frame rates can be achieved. This is complemented by the detectors' particularly short integration time and fast - 14-bit - thermal image digitization.

The high-resolution 640 x 512 pixel detector of the ImageIR 8820 camera types and the optics providing high geometric resolution allow for displaying even the smallest details of measurement objects, suitable for inspecting microelectronic devices in manufacturing or operation.

Fast thermal image capture

The ImageIR 8820 thermal cameras are capable of fast real-time thermal image capture (at 100 Hz frame rate).

PC software

The high-performance and versatile 32-bit thermal imaging IRBIS®3 software suite developed by InfraTec, running under Windows 98/NT/2000/XP/Vista/Win7, is specially designed for industrial applications. The basic package of the software (included with the thermal cameras) includes the IRBIS®3 base program for evaluating stored thermal images and image documentation, as well as the IRBIS®3 online program for live remote control of the thermal camera and real-time transfer of thermal images to a PC. For detailed analysis of thermal image sequences (e.g., creating videos, displaying thermal image galleries) and post-correction of recording parameters, the optional IRBIS®3 plus and IRBIS®3 professional software packages provide additional capabilities.

We sell the above thermal cameras as a complete system, including accessories (high-performance PC, PC interface, cables), as well as the IRBIS®3 basic software and the IRBIS®3online program.
