Any gas escaping from a pressurized system through small cracks or fissures generates ultrasound (inaudible to the human ear). The Leakshooter LKS1000-V3+ detector manufactured by Synergys detects the ultrasound, processes it, and displays its intensity.

The location of the leak can be identified with the built-in video camera. At the push of a button, the measurement results and the image of the inspected location can be stored, making it almost "child's play" to document and record the detected deficiencies (leaks). Moreover, the temperatures developing in the leak environment or on the fitting can be measured contactlessly and immediately documented thanks to the built-in thermal camera. Meanwhile, the instrument also transforms the ultrasound into the audible frequency range. The intensity of the noise heard is stronger the closer we are to the leak. Therefore, the noise intensity helps in finding the ultrasound source, which in turn indicates the probable location of the leak. Features
